Shear Stack: Tower Builder Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Vikaranet (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us") handles information in the Shear Stack: Tower Builder game for Android (the "app").
In short: your game progress stays on your phone. We do not collect personal information. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google collects some device information to serve them. Optional purchases are handled entirely by Google Play.
What the app does
Shear Stack is a timing game: tap to drop each floor onto a growing tower, across 20 levels and an endless mode, with daily missions, a 7-day login reward and unlockable building skins. It is free to play. It shows a banner ad, optional rewarded ads (for a revive, double coins or bonus coins) and occasional full-screen ads between rounds. Players can buy credits to use instead of rewarded ads, or a one-time No Ads unlock.
Information the app handles
| Information | Examples | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress | Best height, levels and stars, coins, credits, skins, daily missions, login streak, sound setting | On your phone. Android may include it in your Google device backup if you have backup turned on. |
| Purchase records | Which item you bought (credit pack or No Ads) and a purchase token | Processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of the purchase, never your payment card or account details. |
| Advertising data | Advertising ID and other device identifiers, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device model and Android version, crash and performance diagnostics, ad interactions | Collected and processed by Google (AdMob) |
| Ad consent choice (EEA, UK, Switzerland) | Whether you allowed personalised ads | On your phone, managed by Google's consent tool |
What we do not do
- The app has no accounts, sign-in or chat.
- It does not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We do not receive, store, sell or trade personal information from the app.
How we use information
Game progress is used only on your phone so you can continue where you left off. Purchase confirmations are used to add credits or remove ads. Advertising data is used by Google to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.
Sharing your tower
When you choose Share my tower, the app makes a picture of your tower and hands it, with a short caption, to the app you pick, such as WhatsApp. We do not see or keep what you share.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: to load ads, process purchases and download the game's display fonts. The game itself plays offline.
- Vibration: short haptic feedback when a floor lands or your tower falls.
Third parties
- Google AdMob (Google LLC) provides the ads and processes advertising data under Google's privacy policy. See also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Google Play Billing processes purchases under the Google Payments privacy notice.
- Google Fonts supplies the game's typefaces when you are online. Your phone's IP address is sent to Google to download them.
- Google Play distributes the app and may provide us with aggregated crash and performance data.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before ads use your data for personalisation. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices on the title screen.
Where your data is stored and how we protect it
Game progress is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. Advertising and purchase data are sent to Google over encrypted connections and stored by Google.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child's information was collected, contact us.
Your rights and deleting your data
- Delete your game progress by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app. This also removes unused credits and coins; a No Ads purchase is restored when you reinstall with the same Google account.
- Reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads in Android Settings › Google › Ads (or Settings › Privacy › Ads).
- For data held by Google, use Google's privacy controls.
- You can also contact us with any privacy request using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
